Images of the beach by Anderby Creek, Lincolnshire were shot on a freezing December 26th 2008. There are miles of this wonderfully unspoiled coastline in Lincolnshire. Anderby Creek was renowned for smugglers bringing Dutch gin and other spirits across the North Sea. For a short while in 1764-5 Tom Paine, the man who gave the USA its name and invented the tubular steel suspension bridge, was the local excise rider keeping smugglers at bay. He lodged in room 105 at the Windmill Hotel in nearby Alford. The Hotel and the room is still in business. Nothing changes much in Lincolnshire.
