ly what they seem. As his success playing 'The Bird Man' grows, so does his psychotic obsession with the deaf trapeze dancer Marie. One fateful moon drenched night he abandons his timidity to finally embrace his violence and wreak revenge... Variété is a remarkable music theatre piece originally written, directed and performed by Lindsay Kemp with his internationally renowned company. This is the first time that Kemp has allowed an independent company to produce one of his works; it is directed by Kinny Gardner, a soloist in the Kemp Company for over twenty years, who was in the original cast. Lindsay holds iconic status as a dance/mime artist, a product of the 1960s art revolution, a major influence on almost every rock musician from David Bowie onwards and is acclaimed for his work in Italy, Spain, Japan and Australia. Carlos Miranda is a muti award winning Chilean composer now living in Spain; he was resident composer for Ballet Rambert for many years and has written music for many Lindsay Kemp productions.
