he city was a small fishing village in the Pearl River Delta at the border to Hong Kong with approximately 30.000 inhabitants. There was no industry, almost no infrastructure. In 1980 the Chinese government established Shenzhen as China's first special economic zone and that changed everything. It attracted talent and investment from all over the world and businesses with investments – A technology hub was created.
