essional football player for the Philadelphia Eagles until injuries ended his playing career. From 1969 to 1996, he served as a National Football League official, officiating in 31 playoff games, including four Super Bowls. He has also been a high school coach and teacher. He served as President of the Professional Football Referees Association, and is a member of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and the William Jewell College Athletic Hall of Fame. In 1953, Conway was named to the Little All-American Team. He excelled in football and track. His offensive production in football was the best among players at all colleges and universities in the nation when he played under legendary Jewell coaches Norris Patterson and Jim Nelson.
