ional interactions between stars and black holes. The cluster forms with a "normal" black hole population, but stars are stripped more efficiently than black holes by the Galaxy, such that the black hole fraction gradually increases. At the age of Palomar 5 (11.5 billion years), the mass fraction of black holes is over 20% and in the next billion year the cluster becomes a 100% black hole cluster.
