On May 9th, 2017, esteemed international shipping magnate and philanthropist Eyal Ofer, together with wife Marilyn and daughter Olivia Ofer, joined together with the Rambam family in a ceremony marking the groundbreaking of the new Eyal Ofer Heart Hospital. The ceremony, which took place on Rambam's Health Care Campus in Haifa, at the foot of what is today a construction site, was attended by those whose vision and dedication is responsible for what will soon be a world-class facility bringing all cardiology diagnoses, treatments, research, and disease risk-reduction programs under one roof. The ceremony began with the signing of a scroll marking the historical event, which was then sealed into in a small box and placed by Mr.Ofer, his wife and daughter Olivia Ofer into the ground, symbolizing the placement of the cornerstone of the future hospital. A small gesture which will have a long and profound impact on heart care in Israel.”
