e Guildhall from the forecourt. Lord Louis arriving at Guildhall in an open landau. Inspecting Royal Marines Guard of Honour.
Inside the crowded Guildhall we see the recorder reading the proclamation (mute). Brief sound section as the recorder greets Mountbatten as a shipwright and citizen of London. Sir Charles Davis presents Mountbatten with a token sword.
Mountbatten makes speech - part mute, part natural sound. He thanks the gathering for the honour and speaks of others who have received the Freedom of the City of London. He talks of the achievements of the forces in South East Asia during the war and of ammunition being taken away from those in Burma for the war in Europe. (Speech is cut about a bit.)
