Pinky and Perky were the wonderful singing pigs invented by Czechoslovakian puppeteers Jan and Vlasta Dalibor. They first appeared on British television in 1957.

hannels in Britain, Pinky and Perky could command up to 15 million viewers. The combination of cheeky-looking puppet pigs and great pop songs of the time were a real hit with children and adults alike.
This episode - like most episodes of Pinky and Perky - is believed to be missing from the BBC archive, although producer Trevor Hill did return at least one episode from his private collection to the BBC a few years ago.
What you hear is an off-air recording of an episode called 'All At Sea', complete with the sound of young viewers in the background! It was broadcast at 4.45pm on Sunday 10th November 1963 on the BBC Television channel.

The song 'On the Sunny Side of the Street' was by Tommy Bruce and the Bruisers.
Pinky and Perky looked alike - they were made from the same mould - but Perky can always be identified because he wears a hat. Perky's original name was Porky but this sounded rather like something children might eat so the name was changed to avoid awkward questions from children at meal times.
