Captain Mat Campbell has today announced his retirement from the National Basketball League after 17 years of service for the Wollongong NRE Hawks.
At the completion of his stellar career Mat will have played 524 games in the NBL during 17 seasons including 1 championship in 2001 and all for the one club, a remarkable feat in Australian sport and an unwavering show of loyalty to the Illawarra and city of Wollongong.
