This is a piece I edited for the Richard C. Miller photogallery.
A major exhibition of never before seen photographs of James Dean began on April 21st at the Celebrity Vault Gallery at 345 N. CaƱon
...
Drive in Beverly Hills. All of the photographs were taken by the renowned ninety-four year-old photographer Richard C. Miller who appeared at the well-attended opening reception.
Approximately forty large black and white digital prints graced the walls of the gallery. The first print purchased was by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. All of the photographs were shot on the set of the classic movie "Giant" or in nearby areas of Texas in the early 1950's for the Globe Photo Agency. Miller reminisced at how much he enjoyed photographing James Dean during some of the prime moments of Dean's life.
Richard Miller is also known for his early photographs of other celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe. Miller was a pioneer in the use of color photography and always strived for the perfect print which will be the title of an upcoming book and DVD about Miller's career.
