lege is situated in the downtown of Haifa, in the northern part of Israel. This college has a vision to teach it's students graphic design and media and to connect the academic side with a feeling of the marketplace so that the students are leading in the design industry in Israel. The director of the college, Erez Issacharov, has gladly accepted the offer of having this workshop in his college, providing at least 3 classrooms, a photo studio with professional lighting and an editing suite with 12 iMac computers with latest DualCore Intel processors and Final Cut editing software.
The computers were given to the college especially for the course by iDigital, Apple VAD (Value-Added Distributor) in Israel. Erez also has a vision of starting a film/editing/post production department in the college and is eager to continue this newly established connection with Edward McDougal and IRRTV to organize similar workshops in the future. Erez has noticed the "action" and excitement in the college during the workshop and is happy with this atmosphere that inspires his students to work hard and stay creative.
Edward McDougal, who is a university professor and a film-maker, has been volunteering in many countries teaching film-making to students ranging from semi-proffessional amateurs to new beginners. Edward's vision has been to share his passion of film-making in order to help people utilize media to communicate deep truth and to raise social awareness to difficult issues in the modern world. Being a born-again Christian, Edward was excited to teach in Israel, the land of the Bible. Seeing the desire in the students, he has enjoyed his time in the college and the opportunity to share of his experience with the 21 students that gathered from many places in Israel and from around the world.
IRRTV, a TV brodcasting company from Finland is beginning it's work in Israel. The vision of this organization is to partner with local media organizations to create a foundation for their future work in Israel. Hannu Hauka, the president of IRRTV, is a close friend of Edward McDougal and has been arranging media workshops in many parts of the world between Austria and Kazakhstan in his support of Christian organizations involvement in TV and media. Vladimir and his wife, Pirjo, have been in charge of this new work beginning in Israel, they have come and organized the practical side of this school, also providing some of the equipment: video cameras, tripods, and microphones.
United Israel Media is an organization of local media producers that has its roots in the Jewish Messianic "Or haCarmel Congregation" of Haifa. This organization is a name that seeks to unite different media initiatives in Israel. UIM has been trying to organize media workshops that would equip local people and raise the standard of media production that would open up opportunities for involvement in the local television and film production. Our goal is to form a continuous production base for media production with a diverse approach to social issues in modern Israel. Michael Roginsky and Elia Brodsky have been helping to organize and teach during the workshop, focusing on the technical side: using the cameras, editing with Final Cut Pro and being available to the students during the week for advice and practical help.
