ty. The fort of Bukkur is built by rocky (Limestone) island on the Indus, it is about eight hundred yards long and three hundred broad and situated at the Island between the Sukkur and Rohri. The walls of the fort is close to and slope to the water's edge at the enterance.There are gateways on the each side of the fort. In small space of the northern side date trees were planted. Inside the fort numerous houses and mosques were built.The Island of Bukkurn acheived prominence early in its history. In 1327 the Dehli King Muhammad Tughlaq sent only trustworthy Governors to command the Bukkur. The fortification were rebuilt by Shah Beg Argun using the material from Alor five miles away.
Nowadays it is in the administration of the Sukkur Divsion and best place for visiting, from this you can watch the coastal line of the Sukkur city also view Bridging phenamenon.
There is another island south of the Bukkur called " Sadh Bello" which also possesses a shrine considered sacred to every thing Sindhian. The famous fish of the river particularly the "Palla" retains the importance and delicious food of the region. Try to chance with it.
