The Kryptonian Epic is a multi-media art project spanning published DC Comics (“Superman: American Alien”) and webcomics, but primarily exists in the form of a multitude of Storytelling or “Pitch” videos for Youtube. The Kryptonian Epic reimagines the DC Universe as a single story, remixing classic stories with new ones, all from a lens of character-based humanism, focusing on the people behind the iconic heroes we’ve come to know, re-examining and recreating certain origins, dynamics and events in a new way. The subject matter of this video might be initially hard to grasp, as the story takes place at the end of the macro-second act of a 7 book anthology. If this were Harry Potter, The Death Of Batman is basically the last half of Order Of The Phoenix. The epic itself is a continuation of the world and characters of my published comic series American Alien, and therefore exists in a strange philosophical gray space between canon and fan fiction. But on a deeper level, the epic is a love-letter and a thank you note to the gods, monsters and stories that defined my childhood, and took over pop culture in my adult life. It is my farewell to fan fiction, and it is made solely for the end purpose of you enjoying it. For those really paying attention, the Death Of Batman serves as the finale to The Kryptonian Epic’s interwoven Batman Trilogy, consisting of Superman: Agent Of Batman, Batman: Deathwish, and finally, Superman: For All Mankind.
