There's some serious hip-hop production assistance from Keith Le Blanc, but Martin and Mark's inter-genre vision of Hip-Pop was always going to struggle against the insipid MOR domination of the mid-80's charts. The House and Grunge revolution's were inevitable, but ABC were an isolated voice of innovation during 1984. Ironically, it was the US that took them to their hearts when the UK was just confused with the concept.
