ved Illinois well, with many students who have attended the university having walked its historic corridors for class, research, or to examine its fascinating collections.
In May 2014, the building was closed for a $72 million renovation that is transforming the interior into a modern learning environment while preserving the architectural details that led to its place on the National Register of Historic Places.
The building reopened to students on Monday, August 28, 2017.
