on in cementitious structures capable of improving ambient air quality. For the first time this technology is applicable over a wide geographical range, giving TiO2-market leeway to act in less sunny climates and permitting indoor uses independently of UV lamps with high energy consumption.
These innovative materials are capable to degrade hazardous chemicals, like NOx, into harmless components; and furthermore this technology imparts easy-to-clean properties which has the effect of reducing harsh cleaning chemicals entering the water systems.
Additionally to the mentioned environmental and economic benefits, the keys guiding Light2CAT project are to ensure cost and long-life performance effectiveness.
