Oak wilt is a lethal disease of oaks (Quercus spp.) caused by the fungus Ceratocystis fagacearum. Oak wilt causes devastating losses of trees throughout the Central Texas oak savannahs and woodlands.

The disease also has a huge impact on valuable oak trees growing in the urban landscapes of Dallas, Waco, Austin, San Antonio and countless smaller communities in the region.
