lizzard.
This match was played at the now-remodeled Varsity Stadium in Toronto, Ontario, which is on the campus of the University of Toronto.
This was the first time since 1971 that the NASL championship final had been decided by a best-of-three final, but the first under the Soccer Bowl banner.
Sadly, it would not only prove to be the very last match in the NASL's history, but it would also prove to be the NASL's last championship final, as the league would fold in early 1985.
Providing the commentary for SportsVision (based in Chicago) was Howard Balson and Kenny Stern, son of the owner of the Chicago Sting, Lee Stern. The broadcast was also simulcasted on the then-new TSN network in Canada.
