ra in this 131st anniversary concert, 23 January 1988. The text is by Chausson's friend Maurice Bouchor. A brief synopsis of these first two movements: The poet spends his summer at the coast and meets a girl on the shore. She leaves before him and he wonders if they'll ever meet again. The melancholic orchestral interlude foreshadows his disappointment.
