The late, great Seattle "pre-alternative" (I just made up that term!) commercial radio station KJET 1600 AM left the airwaves on September 23, 1988.

ial troubles a bit earlier that year in this somewhat cheeky segment from reporter John Larson that aired on January 13, 1988. Watch for lots of gratuitous shots of turntables, cart machines, live DJs and other long-since disappeared fixtures of local radio.
KJET staff seen in this report include Jim Keller, Bill Reid, Thaddeus Wilson and Bob Powers (as well as save-KJET-petition-signature-gatherer Vivian McPeak).
