Davies MP htt
...
ps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Davies is a Conservative MP, the only MP - out of a total of 650 - who ever speaks up for men and boys as a class. In October 2012, five months before the launch of J4MB, the Anti-Feminism League http://fightingfeminism.wordpress.com presented Philip Davies with a Winston award https://fightingfeminism.wordpress.com/2012/10/20/rt-hon-philip-davies-mp-is-awarded-a-winston/ for comments he'd made about gender differences in prison sentencing. He has also spoken out against the government's bullying of FTSE companies to increase the proportion of women on their boards.
On 27 October Jess Phillips, an odious Labour MP, blocked Philip Davies's application for time to be set aside on International Men's Day to the first-ever parliamentary debate on men's issues. This video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Z60LUV3V0E relates to that exchange.
The committee on which Jess Phillips sits subsequently decided to permit Philip Davies his debate, and a video of that debate his introduction is above. Philip put in a sterling performance, despite some scandalous attempts by feminist MPs to disrupt his speech.
One male MP said he felt International Men's Day was an appropriate day for men to show collective determination to stop men commiting violence against women. We can be sure that on International Women's Day he won't say it's an appropriate day for women to show collective determination to stop women committing violence against men.
We were pleased to hear a mention of Mankind Initiative in a section starting at 35:02, and of male circumcision at 41:50.
