I've shot a lot of things over the years, and up until now, they've been in my digital library files. I'm editing my film and tape footage and creating a series of 3 minute video shorts called "3 Minu

tes, A Visit To:" The footage is shot with either a VHS or DV camcorder so it varies in quality, but I think there's a lot of footage that you may think is interesting. In keeping with the “3 minute” format some of the longer footage is split up into several parts. Before each segment is a short description. A longer, more detailed description is below.

Virginia City Revisited/ Part 3
After visiting “Fourth Ward School Museum” I walked down C Street and eventually ended up at “Mackay Mansion, built in 1860. This home was once used as the headquarters of the Gold and Curry Mining Company Association. Later, the home was owned by John Mackay, who, with a partnership, capitalized on the silver mines at the Comstock load.
I then walked down to the Virginia and Truckee Railroad and got on an interesting train ride to the Gold Hill Train Depot then back to Virginia City.
The round trip ride was about a half hour, and took me past the historic
mining and scenic sights along the way. After that I went back to my truck
and made my way to Las Vegas for the opening of Paris Las Vegas.
Please note: The experience I’m relating is an experience I had in 1999 and many things could have changed in Virginia City….hopefully not too much.
