Musician/composer Lloyd Landesman created this amazing and memorable jingle. You can find this information on Lloyd's Vimeo at http://vimeo.com/lloydlandesman!
'Faith No More' did not write or record the jingle for this commercial, they merely covered it in live performances.
Maxfield Parrish Biography by Ralph Fletcher Seymour. Todd McDurmont is the first guy to appear in the commercial.
Interesting info:
The commercial was shot January, 1986, upper west side, New York City.
I was new to the city. I just signed with Elite Model Management.
This was my second national commercial booking.
My sequence took less than 45 minutes to shoot. I was in makeup and wardrobe longer.
The studio was cold. So cold in fact, that when I took a bite of the Alpine White bar, it would break off in large pieces, rather than a clean break. As a result, you never actually see me take a bite!
The commercial ran for three years and would have run longer but sources indicated (true or not) that Nestle allegedly never consulted the Maxfield Parrish estate to use the famous artwork as a backdrop. So the commercial was eventually pulled from rotation. Too bad. It was one of the biggest, most iconic commercial of the 1980's and I was very lucky to be part of history.
