resentative received a scroll and then ask for permission to exercise the Freedom. Thereafter, the Regiment marched through the Borough with Colours flying, bayonets fixed and drums beating, according to tradition.
The Regiment was represented by soldiers from across Yorkshire and in particular the 3rd Battalion, who's heartland is the West Riding of Yorkshire. It was particularly poignant because one Company from the Battalion has just been deployed on operations in Afghanistan and another just returned from Iraq.
