vention “JAMOO” (Jahovah’s Music) brings together spiritually conscious messages with the contemporary sound of his family band “ THE LOVE CIRCLE”. Ras Shorty “I” and the Love Circle are dedicated: “To changing the manner of our age by the example of our lives and the power of the spirit of our music in Jesus name”. This music explores the ills of society such as drug abuse and AIDS and endeavors to find solutions through meaningful lyrics. Ras Shorty “I” musical career began in the 1960's when he was known as “The Lord Shorty”, “The Love Man” and “ the world’s sexiest calypsonian”. In the 1970's he began experimenting with calypso music to give it a more contemporary sound, expand the expressive possibilities of the music and incorporated the East Indian music within the calypso. His innovation led to the genre of “Sokah music”, “ the soul of calypso”, which is now the most popular music of the Caribbean. Shorty’s string of hits include “Indrani”, “The Art of Making Love”, “Endless Vibration”, “He lick she”, “Sweet Music” and the list continues.
