STORYLINE:
The world's oldest man celebrated another birthday on Monday - Puerto Rican Emiliano Mercado is 115 years old and marked the occasion with a family party.
His age has been verified by the Guinness Book of World Records and he appears in the latest edition.
Mercado became the oldest man in the world on 17 January, 2001.
He is also the world's oldest veteran.
He was called up by the US Army to fight in World War I - although the war ended before his training was completed.
Mercado was born in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, on 21 August 1891.
He lives in Isabela, on the northern coast of Puerto Rico, a territory of the United States.
In 1993, he was honoured by US president Bill Clinton with the medal commemorating the 75th anniversary of the signing of the truce that ended World War I.
