last couple hundred years, so we partnered with International IDEA and the National Constitutional Center to host a “Constitution Building Tech Fair” in Philadelphia, where leading constitutional experts came together to discuss how technology can address their currently unmet needs and challenges.
We also invited Zach Elkins, a professor in the Department of Government at the University of Texas, to moderate a real time, one of a kind experiment with 7 constitutional designers from around the world (Ukraine, Kenya, Iceland, Liberia, South Africa, Argentina, and the United States). The exercise brought two tools--Constitute (www.constituteproject.org) and Docs--together to create a brand new mock amendment on campaign finance. Each participant had their own Chromebook, researched related clauses in Constitute, and then exported them into a shared document where they worked together to craft their amendment.
