ion Provisional Authority (CPA), the transitional government in Iraq after the removal of Saddam Hussain. This interview was conducted at PTV in Islamabad, Pakistan, in February 2007, a month before Amb. Crocker took up position in Kabul, Afghanistan.
At the time of this interview, Amb. Crocker was leaving Islamabad, and Quraishi was kicking off his TV career in Pakistan, transitioning from several years as a war correspondent based in the Middle East. Quraishi explained that this interview was special for him because both Crocker and Quraishi, as a diplomat and a journalist, crossed paths in Kuwait and Baghdad before ending up in Islamabad, by coincidence, of course. Quraishi was one of the embedded journalists with the coalition that unseated the Iraqi leader, and was earlier based in Kuwait city, with some time with Aljazeera (Arabic_ in Qatar.
