ade game. Kid Stuff Records released a number of novelty childrens albums through the course of the 70s and 80s, with a number of them based on other video game and media franchises.
Though officially licensed by Nintendo, the story of the album does take some liberties with what would become "Mario canon" in the following years: As the owner of a pizza parlor, Mario and his delivery girl Pauline work across from a construction site which was formally the site of the town zoo, where Donkey Kong once resided and enjoyed daily visits from the duo. When the circus comes to town with Donkey Kong as a star attraction, the giant gorilla recognizes his old hometown, and breaks out of his constraints in order to "play" with Pauline and Mario. It's a race against the clock as Mario must scale the construction site in order to save his employee from the unpredictable gorilla.
