She came under severe criticism from various section of Indian Society and India Media when a video of here open lecture at JNU were uploaded on Youtube. Professor Nivedita Menon who is heard saying' "Whole world believes that India is illegally occupying Kashmir"and Nagaland and Manipur was forcibly included in the Union State of India.
