"It’s very easy to see America perhaps as a crumbling country. I’m one who is very careful about what I say, because I think the power of life and death is in the tongue. So, I am not yet ready to say that America is crumbling. I would readily acknowledge that America is divisive, if not very divisive," says reverend Kirbyjon Caldwell, one of the spiritual leaders in America and the Senior Pastor of Windsor Village Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. http://www.theherlandreport.com #HerlandReport #DivisiveAmerica #Cultural Decay #HanneHerland
Reverend Caldwell has been featured extensively in the American and international media, at the BBC, The Wall Street Journal, CBS and many others. He is in Newsweek’s “Century Club”, the list of the 100 people to watch as America moved into the 21st century.
Caldwell says: "In fact, without revealing any identity, I will say to you that one of the former presidents of the US shared with me in a private conversation that he was concerned about the current level of divisiveness in the country,"
"So, I would readily commit admit that there is a spirit of divisiveness in the country. Some would even argue that that divisiveness has reached a level of toxicity. Meaning that you can almost sense the toxic elements in the atmosphere if you would. I am not a historian, so I am not prepared to give you a historical analysis and track a trend per se. But, I will suggest to you that it seems as if persons are retreating to their respective silos of homogeneity. "
"Some may disagree with this, but I think that the focus on technology is causing us to become more comfortable with devices than while with people. We are becoming more comfortable with texting and tweeting than we are talking to an individual."
