On 10 March 2021, just over a year after the crisis, HMAS Choules and East Gippsland Shire Council officially announced Mallacoota as HMAS Choules’ ceremonial homeport.
This is a powerful symbol that bonds the ship and crew to the Mallacoota community for the life of its service.
