The steam in the tank do not normally last very long, and every 1 hour or less (depending on the usage) the loco must return back again to the filling station. This rendered them suitable for shunting only.
Semboro sugar mill have 2 of them, and they're normally used for shunting inside the mill compound. Their usage is necessary due to presence of flammable sugarcane bagasse in vital parts around the mill.
