ermal blister to form on romaine and other lettuce crops. Warmer weather that followed has led to epidermal peel that is difficult for harvesting/processing crews to eliminate. Commodity and value-added romaine items will have varying levels of epidermal peel for at least two weeks. Light rain this week can potentially cause decay to develop on leaves that have epidermal peel. Markon inspectors are monitoring supplies closely and will update further as needed.
