Nagorno-Karabakh lies within Azerbaijan but has been under the control of ethnic Armenian forces backed by Armenia since a war there ended in 1994.

Others have been sending money and aid and have been campaigning in the media in support of ethnic Armenians in the enclave, which they refer to as Artsakh.
