Texas beat poet greats like Raul Salinas for radio audiences around the world. Hedwig rides on a hand-crafted boat from Vermilionville, Louisiana, to perform Teenager in Nova Scotia to the live radio broadcast soundtrack from CD Send in the Clown. Music by East of Eden Band, composed by D'Jalma Garnier, also seen in the video. Louisiana French Cajuns and Nova Scotians are closely connected by their history and family bloodlines. Hedwig Gorski lived in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada for three years 1974-77 near the home of Beat photographer, Robert Frank, creator of Beat film romp Pull My Daisy, while attending the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. After that, she moved to Austin, Texas, and became a driving force against boring literature through a performance poetry campaign against quiet printed page poems written only for the page. In this video, she conflates time and cultures with a universal experience, the sexual awakening of a young teenage girl in her fisherman father's coastal home. History seems to be shoved into the present with the blues music composed by Garnier and performed by East of Eden Band in contrast to the leisure of the summer in the South setting.
