While life is gradually returning to Borno and its adjoining towns and other areas, the need for peace is being broadcasted by one man who was born, bred and lived within the community.
By birth, residence and work, (Peace-)Amb. Ahmed Bolori is an indigene of Maiduguri, Borno State of the North-Eastern Nigeria; which has been in turmoil, plagued by a raging insurgency that has cost thousands of lives. This insurgency which caused the destruction of farmland and property worth billions of naira, consequently resulted in huge influx of refugees to elsewhere considered safe across the country as Boko Haram continues its rampage.
However, since 2010, at different levels, he has actively been a volunteer, implementer, Coordinator and Consultant for various NGOs and Civil Society Organizations within and outside Nigeria: working in the areas of Peace building and preventing/countering violent extremism, social inclusion and civic engagement projects, a profile which earned him an honor as ‘Ambassador for peace'. He is also an Entrepreneur.
As one of the very few of his kind, renowned for his advocacy and campaigns for peace and development; he has initiated various measures to tackle some of these problems by promoting non-violent interventions as the best for preventing/countering violent extremism.
