The protesters Bangladesh carried placards reading "Stop harassing (Muslims) in Kashmir", "Stand up for Kashmir" and burned an effigy of Indian prime minister Narendra Modi as they marched through the streets.
"Our solidarity forum demands the freedom of Kashmir. We are proclaiming unity with the people of Kashmir for its independence. We shall pray for the independence of Kashmir and be ready for all sorts of cooperation," Nur Hossain Kasemi, convener of the All-party Kashmir Solidarity Forum, told the protesters.
He said they would continue to protest peacefully as he urged the people to stand up for Kashmir.
