I have done my research,... in the mid 70s, Magnavox, the pioneers of the home console, were losing money, so, to keep their name alive and to broaden the console market, the made a chip of a few easy...
 to programme versions of pong from the original Odysey, this chip was licensed to manufacturers of radios, clocks and other small, cheap electronic devices, phillips, binatone, elf tone and even nintendo to name a few. The boxes were easy to make, and often made larger to inflate the price, even though it's just 1 chip and a few wires. And yes, it fell over :D
