Some of them eat animals. They can't help it. They’re not equipped to change, but unlike us, they do not force animals into holocaust-like conditions to suffer their entire lives. Many animals, like bison, giraffes, elephants and cows eat only plants. They grow healthy and strong getting their protein from only plants, and so can we. Being vegan is easy when we think of the victims. It's as easy as going shopping and choosing the soy milk instead of the cow milk. It's just about moving your hand 6 inches away and picking up other items nearby. Starting today, you can make the decision to stop bringing anything that's not vegan into your home. If you decide to do that, write today's date and post it on your fridge. This is your Happy Vegan Declaration Day! The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics has clearly stated that being vegan is a healthy choice for all stages of development: infancy, childhood, young adults, grandparents and pregnant and lactating mothers. All you have to do is eat a variety of whole foods each of which are not expensive such as: oats, black beans, kidney beans, pinto beans, mung beans, rice, walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, brazil nuts, pumpkinseeds, chia seeds, flax seeds, veggie wraps, tofu scramble, lentils, spinach, broccoli, potatoes, vegan pizza, carrots, corn, green peas, blueberries, peaches, pineapple, strawberries, dates, vegan lasagna, bananas and thousands of other choices that are out there! For help with meals, simply google Healthy Vegan Meals. To understand if something is moral or not, a good thing to do is to simply ask yourself if you would want it done to you. Most religious texts follow the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would want done to you. If you would not want someone to hurt you, then don't do it to someone else. Just because animals look different, is no reason to discriminate against them, is it? Being racist towards animals is wrong. You may think that the word racist doesn't apply here. But ask yourself, what is the difference between enslaving and hurting any sentient being, just because their skin, feathers or fur looks different than ours? Do we all feel pain? Yes. So doesn't it make sense then, to try to avoid hurting others when it’s so easy to do so? You have the ability to change the world, as soon as you decide to stop buying meat, dairy, eggs, fur and feathers: as soon as you decide not to support businesses that abuse animals, such as Mc Donald's, KFC and Seaworld, just to name a few. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain! When you become vegan, everyone wins! It's best for the ecosystem, for the animals and also, it will make you feel great to begin to live your life in line with your own moral compass.
