Sugar
Ray Robinson was born on May 3, 1921, in Detroit, Michigan.
In 1944, he was examined by the Military Authorities and
was declared to have a mental deficiency. In August of 1951,
Sugar Ray Robinson, lost a fight to a British fighter, Randolph
Turpin. In July of 1952, Director J. Edgar Hoover was invited
to speak at a testimonial dinner in honor of Robinson. Due
to the Director's schedule, he declined.
