The face you make when the paperwork has been signed —and it’s official!! Hello Kentucky! I am officially signing on as your Miss Kentucky USA 2021 🤩 1. My name is Ellen “Elle” Smith 2. I’m 22 years old (about to be 23 on June 19th 😉) 3. I work as a reporter at WHAS in Louisville, Kentucky. This is my first reporting job and I cover Southern Indiana primarily! 4. I graduated from the University of Kentucky in May 2020 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science! 5. My platform is cervical cancer awareness. My grandmother passed away from cervical cancer in 2015—and I am dedicating my year to her. I want to educate and prevent! 6. I am the Leader of the Louisville Chapter of the National Cervical Cancer Coalition. 7. I studied abroad in Italy for a semester and was in awe the entire time. I love learning about new cultures and meeting people from around the world. It gives us insight into our own culture and an appreciation for others. 8. I love the arts. I know every Broadway showtune. 9. One of my goals as Miss Kentucky USA is to visit all 120 counties in Kentucky. It is a big goal and I am going to need your help.
