This album changed everything for me. I will never forget being 15 sitting in my friends bedroom (dark red lightbulbs and incense burning because we were “dark lords”) listening to Death Metal records for hours. When he put this cassette on from the first scream as the song starts to the amazing Doom style break down and solos I was entranced. I followed this band from Wolverine Blues, DCLXVI To Ride Shoot Straight and Speak the Truth, Uprising to Inferno. The voice behind these records LG Petrov has passed into the great beyond. I didn’t know the man but I am a huge fan of his work with Entombed (those albums specifically). There was a certain magic to the music and the time frame I was introduced to them back in 94. There were no studio tricks, no computer manipulation making all the human elements or audio quality near perfect. It was raw dark and POWERFUL! All hails 🤘🏼🤘🏼to the legacy of the man and to the album that threw me into a whole new love and appreciation death metal! Take just the song “Left Hand Path” out to stand alone and I would say it is an absolute masterpiece, pure musical brilliance.
