[Read Below] Bit.ly/defundvcupd Our demands have not been met. We do not tolerate performative reforms and empty promises. We DEMAND change now, and call upon VCU administration to be held accountable for students and the community. We DEMAND that Virginia Commonwealth University abolish VCUPD and sever ties from all police departments. We DEMAND that VCU release VCUPD’s line-item budget from the last 5 years. We DEMAND that VCU remove the LiveSafe App to protect Black and Brown students. We DEMAND that VCU ban ICE from being permitted on VCU campus to protect Undocumented students. We cannot continue to allow VCU to control the narrative around public safety and co-opt the work of community organizers and organizations. Abolishing VCUPD means 95 less officers in Richmond terrorizing students and community members. We call upon VCU students to not sit idly by and to protect BIPOC. As students of VCU, you are RVA.
