Kavita has decided to end her competitive career. I wish her all the best in pursuing her new chapter in life. I first would like to say thank you to everyone who supported me throughout the past 3 years. Transitioning to Ice Dance was one of the best decisions of my life and I have absolutely no regrets. Leaving my family and my life back home in Germany wasn’t easy, but moving to Detroit, thankfully, felt right very quickly. I met new friends and people that are close to my heart, who I now call my American family. I’ve been growing as a person and have learned so much more about myself; that’s one of my proudest personal achievements. In a very short amount of time, we managed through hard training to become the national champions of our country, not only once but three times in the row. We managed to compete successfully for our country internationally at big competitions and we managed to achieve every athlete’s dream - to be an Olympian. I wish I could’ve continued the next Olympic cycle the “easy way” but what is easy in life? I truly believe everything happens for a reason! I’ve been working on some new projects the last couple of weeks which I’m excited to disclose very soon. While I look forward to what the future brings, I would like to put myself out there to see if I can find a match to continue my career as an ice dancer. There’s only a short period of time for us to be athletes and I want to make the most of it. I really love to compete, and I hope to find a partner who is passionate about skating, committed to our partnership and in it with a full heart.
