Stockton RFC are delighted to announce our coaching team for 2020/21, led by new Director of rugby Scott Powell and supported by Mark Skirving and Rob Green. Each of them bring a wealth of knowledge , Scott will continue in his player coach role, bringing to the team his experience of playing National League Rugby with Harrogate and Tynedale, Rob a former age grade duel international and premiership player, will predominantly work with the backs and combine this with his playing role as First XV scrum half. Mark is the longest serving club captain in our history, taking on the role in his early 20s when we played our rugby at National 3 level. He continues as our forwards guru, a role which he fulfilled for the previous two seasons. Scott states, ‘ the aim of course is promotion, however we will continue to focus on the development of the players, which has led to our Saracens winning the league this year and moving up to Division One. Over the next five years the club will reap the rewards of our work with the junior section and it’s development, we have a strong colts side this year and strength in depth in all the squads coming through. I’m looking forward to the challenge and the chance to work with the new coaching team and the most talented pool of players we’ve had in a generation. My thanks go to the outgoing Paul Lee and Martin Howe, who have done an amazing job over the past few years, giving us the platform to continue our development’ Scott goes on to say ‘ the facilities at the club are second to none, over the summer we will be putting new drainage in 3 of our pitches and building a purpose built gym, in addition to our existing indoor rugby facility, any coach and player would be excited to work in this environment’ Go well boys - the future looks bright. 🔴⚪️🔴 #OurTownOurClub
