Historically, these designers have worked out of sight bringing us many of the lenses we cherish today. So here are two Pentax lens designers who were relevant in this brief overview of the Green Star 85. Mr. Ogawa Ryota was responsible for developing the early Pentax autofocus system. Ryota's most famous lens design is the A* (Green Star) 85mm f/1.4. which was only produced between 1984-1989. However, the Green Star 85 concept is still available today as the slightly modified FA77mm Ltd lens, which shares nearly the same optical design. Mr. Jun Hirokawa designed the widely acclaimed FA Limited lenses, which many Pentaxians refer to as the "Three Amigos". He made the first prototype of the FA31 Ltd, (which is arguably my favorite Pentax lens) and designed the FA43 Ltd . He also modified Ryota's A* Green Star 85 f/1.4 lens and re-designed it as the highly regarded FA77 Ltd. Having both the Green Star 85 and the FA77, one of these days I really need to shoot sample images from both lenses to see what the differences are. #pentax #pentaxfun #pentaxian #pentaxians #pentaxiansunite #pentaxiansstandup #supertakumar #takumar #pentaxk5iis #lensculture #vintagecamera #vintagecameras #asahioptical #manualfocus #vintagelens #manuallens #classiclens #asahipentax
