Finished painting this one about a year ago, @Incantation_official's "Profane Nexus". The idea came directly from the lyrics. Chuck (Sherwood, Bass) give me a quick run down of the themes the various songs touch upon. A couple of songs grabbed my attention: “Rites of the Locust” dealt with the natural behavior of locusts, and “The Night Drinker” was about the Mayan deity Xipe Totec. Chuck explained a specific ritual involving Xipe Totec as “People would be flayed (skinned alive) so that a medium for this god could wear the skin for 20 days, to be the living interpretation of it”.
