The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade looks a whole lot different than it did when it was debuted in 1924. Gone from the lineup: Live animals that frightened children with their roars. Though it has faced changes, the parade was only ever cancelled a handful of times including three years during World War II and in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
