The Nashville community is mourning the loss of three 9-year-olds and three staff members who were fatally shot Monday at Covenant School.    The victims include:  Evelyn Dieckhaus, a third grader described as a shining light in this world. Mike Hill, the longtime custodian at the school and a father of seven.  William Kinney who was "quick to laugh" and had a gentle, "unfailingly kind" spirit. Katherine Koonce, the school's headmaster who died trying to protect the children she loved.  Cynthia Peak, a substitute teacher who was doing what she loved the most, helping young people.  Hallie Scruggs, the daughter of Chad Scruggs, the lead pastor at the school's affiliate Covenant Presbyterian Church   The tragic incident marked America's 129th mass shooting of 2023, according to Gun Violence Archive, a nonprofit which tracks gun violence data.
